The Digital Decade Policy Programme (DDPP) is a key initiative launched by the European Commission as a monitoring and cooperation mechanism to achieve the common objectives and targets for Europe’s digital transformation by 2030.

The DDPP sets out targets for 2030 across four cardinal points: digital skills, digital infrastructure, digitalisation of business and digital government. Malta’s national Digital Strategy – Malta Diġitali 2022-27 – is closely knit with the framework.

The DDPP indicates that each member state should devise its own national roadmap to reach the Digital Decade targets. These strategic roadmaps also contain the national projected trajectories, as well as the expected impact of the policies, measures and actions. The Maltese Digital Decade roadmap has been developed after a wide consultation with numerous stakeholders, and has received the approval of Cabinet before being submitted to the Commission for approval.

The Maltese Digital Decade Roadmap has been approved by the Commission and has received the approval for publication.
